History:
The U.S. Constellation started her active life in 1798
and was withdrawn from service in 1955. Her missions included seizing
numerous ships, defending the Hawaiian Island against annexation
by the British in 1843 and transporting food to Ireland during the
Great Famine of 1845 – 1849. It was also the first U.S. warship
to visit China in1842, and it became a training vessel in 1871.
Today, it brings back glorious memories to tens of thousands of
tourists who visit her each year in Baltimore.
Features:
Brass hardware such as eyebolts, stanchions, rings and
hinges. Highly detailed bow and stern parts. Detailed construction
methods allow modeler to form the hull by attaching planking strakes
to the false keel and frames. Modeler will want to file and sand
the whole hull until you have a compact and smooth surface. Also,
each mast and yard arm are hand sanded to the correct shape. All
deck accessories must be built, painted or stained for added realism.
Taking the time to do the detail work will give a truly realistic
boat model and a very rewarding building experience for the modeler.

All fittings, riggings, deck and hull planking strakes,
masts, bowsprit, brass stern moldings, spools of rigging thread,
pre-sewn sails, decal sheet, die-cut sheet showing all die-cut parts
and photo illustrated instruction manual.
